Liberty Of Mind

Dear Readers,

It's been awhile since i last blog. I still find blog is kinda suitable for me to write an article-like of my very own expression. Of course I'm not up to the level to write it to the printing press. Today i would like to write about the power to have a control of our very own mind.

In the wake of the GE13, it is obviously that information penetration into the mind of people it what make the future of the party. Lets not dwell too much into political or GE13 but there will be few example taken from it. Information exposure is very important as it's the input that will let your mind do the thinking and thinking. As human being, we have 5senses which are sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. The most important 2 which we often used are sight and hearing. We used to read newspaper (internet), watch TV(internet), see what ever happen to the world(internet), listen to the radio(internet), communication(internet) & etc.

WHAT if all the input was total shut, manipulated or control by a certain party of their own personal gains?

It would be disastrous, we would be living like a surrogates with no creativity, identity & uniqueness. The current mainstream media are giving one sided information and we have to rely on internet for another side of information (where the info was not verified). Why do we need to go bagging for information?
The mainstream media of today, is like a bird losing it's wings. Spreading propaganda news at the expense of some political party benefits. Thus we have to thinking analytically  and not accept the input blindly. Accepting info blindly and heavily promoting it, i will call it brainwashing. One should have doubt on the information provided and let your mind do some basic thinking from all aspect before accepting it. Let me give an example; you're watch a shampoo advertisement and you tried it and it suit you well. Thus you went on to promote it to your friends by saying; a) This shampoo is so damn good and you guys should buy it. b) This shampoo suit my scalp and if you have oily scalp you may give it a try.

For answer a), the particular person has been brainwashed to think that only shampoo A is good without even trying other shampoo before. For answer b), that particular person think that the shampoo suit his scalp and there are still other shampoos which maybe better off.... where he haven't encountered it. Do you see how the brain works for these 2 answers?

One should think on multiple aspect/angle rather than only one direction. The education system and the mainstream media has shape the mind of youngster to take information and accept it as it is. Let me take another example, I'm working with the Germans and when we encountered problem... we'll tend to ask our counterpart before even squeezing our brain for solution and when a solution is provided, we'll just accept without a question. What make them look superior than us? Is the way they look at the problems and think differently. I was once told by a senior director that we are as good as our counterparts but what are our differences between us and the Germans, us and those senior directors (born in 1950-60s). It's the information & education system that shape us all.

So what are we fighting for? I pretty attracted with the promised given by the opposition pact that they will provide freedom of media press. It's our own mind and why lets others to control the way they want you to think or look into particular issue? I'm fighting for Liberalism which govern by free & fair election, equality, freedom of press & etc. Think about it!! I'm hopeful that we'll able to break free to be able to think freely & analytically for the Better Malaysia this coming 6th of May!! ~ Credit to The Liberal Minds
